Job description
The Global Engineering Director leads a global team of engineers whose goal is to define and optimize supply chain solutions for our clients or prospects (4PL/LLP/Consulting).
- Existing clients: conduct supply chain optimization studies & manage improvement plans. Support operations in the analysis of processes using internal methodologies and tools.
- Prospects: Desing new solutions in the context of a Requests For Proposals (RFP)
Main missions :
A/ Main missions of the team under the responsibility of the Global Engineering Director:
- Responding to RFP in compliance with the process. Main steps are : client Q&A, sizing control tower (process / people + interface with IT and transformation), defining improvement areas, calculating savings in € & CO2 based on available data, calculating budget (if procurement exercise), P&L construction. In case of success on the RFQ, transferring the file to the implementation teams and support Implementation team for all Engineering relative topics up to Go live.
- Optimizing the supply chain of our existing clients: conducting optimization studies (strategic/tactical: digital twin, network design, transport optimization, logistics, etc.). For 4PL/LLP clients, the team must manage the continuous improvement process: seeking improvement opportunities, building a business case, tracking generated savings (CO2 & €). All this is done in close collaboration with operational and procurement teams.
- Ensure a coherent and harmonized CO2 calculation methodology and tracking between all SCO customers.
- Define engineering tools needs. Select the right tools and define methodologies. It includes GEODIS SCO quotation and process analysis tool (LEO / LEO ops / LEO efficiency)
B/ Main missions related to team management:
- Participating to SCO Board and lead all Engineering relative topics.
- Support Sales is customer discovery meeting (pre-RFQ)
- Recruiting, training, and leading a Global team of Engineers.
- Define engineering tools Roadmap
- Participate in the design and support the SCO carbon reduction roadmap.
- Ensuring the development of the team's skills
- Participate in the acquisition and dissemination of new knowledge/skills within the engineering department.
