Description de la mission


Main responsibilities for the position
For GEODIS Digital & Technology (D&T) Group, we are offering a FinOps Specialist position hosted within the group D&T Finance department with a strong collaboration with IT infrastructure teams. She/He will handle several scopes of responsibilities as follow:

Economical and operational performance management:
- Steering the FinOps function of GEODIS: this requires necessary interactions with multiple stakeholders across the board: Global infra, D&T Corporate, D&T controlling Teams, D&T Office teams to deliver best performance of our technologies
- Managing overall Cloud consumption and valuation of spending (both for Group asset and locally used assets as well) including billing review and validation from our provider (currently Insight)
- Advising on optimal design by cost and on the best choice Cloud hosting
- Improving FinOps / Cloud Key Performance Indicators & dashboard for Cloud consumption and optimization
- Contributing and/or leading optimization leads together with IT, finance and business managers
- Closely work with D&T Group Controllers to follow-up on financial indicators, and give proactive recommendations identifying main sources of potential benefits

Financial Planning and analysis:
- Contributing to budget process for Cloud platforms across the LoBs/Regions
- Tracking costs and cost savings across the LoBs/Regions
- Identifying and mitigating risks related to Cloud usages (compliance, optimization, change of the model, software asset optimization, invoice controlling)
- Overseeing the controlling of the Cloud providers' invoice with the Software Asset Management contribution
FinOps community federation & animation
- Coordinating FinOps Governance with each LoB & Region using Cloud platform and hosting services from the Group with the objective to fluidify the relationship between central and local teams to fetch saving in hosting costs
- Animating FinOps community: sharing knowledge, expertise, and best practices and following-up on action plans
- Challenging all Application Owners on their hosting and deployment strategy
- Interacting with GEODIS shareholder FinOps teams regarding overall contract follow up and governance

Cloud service Strategy and compliance:
- Contributing to Global Infrastructures Cloud Strategy Worldwide
- Technology watch on cloud services and third-party tooling and attend workshops and conferences on FinOps & cloud optimization
- Collaborating with Software Asset Management team regarding the compliance of cloud capabilities license of GEODIS worldwide

Profil du candidat

• Business School master's Degree (BAC+5), Engineering Master's degree or University master's degree, preferably in Information Systems
• 5+ years of experience in IT / infrastructures / cloud transformation and performance, 2+ years with FinOps project management or economical improvement of Cloud assets
• Good animation and organization skills, attention to detail. Ability to easily collaborate, work transversally and foster teamwork between departments
• Capacity to work with multiple stakeholders from different teams (management, finance, IT…)
• Proficient with FinOps tooling & frameworks
• Proficient with Azure and Amazon Web Services
• Ability to synthetize and to prepare clear data, drive reporting and provide analysis
• Soft skills to promote effective decision making
• Strong capability to manipulate data and data viz tooling (Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI…)
• Strong result driven orientation
• Fluent in English, proficient in French a plus
• Pro-active, interested in and able to find solutions, able to work within and lead a limited local team. Hands-on and constructive attitude
• Good analytical and conceptual skills and a structured way of working
• Good management and communication skills:
o Well organized with interest to develop processes and methods
o Ability to set and follow up clear objectives
o Able to interact functionally with stakeholders to get key information for consolidation
o Able to proactively document & manage a collaborative working space (Sharepoint, Confluence)
• Ability to work independently as well as in a (virtual) team environment
• Ability to create and nurture trustful relations despite the cultural differences and geographical distance
• A pragmatic approach to work and the ability to be flexible when needed
• Ability to prioritize tasks among varying workloads and urgency
