Job description

• Ensure that the HR function supports and partners with the business efficiently as an internal supplier, by providing KPIs which measure HR activity and efficiency
• Develop, Implement, and provide all the HR KPIs needed for the area of the business this role supports.
• Provide HR advice and support on a wide range of strategic and operational Human Resources issues to the senior operational teams in Ireland and when necessary, in the UK.
• Work with operational team to devise development and succession plans
• Establish effective and credible relationships with Directors and Senior Management across the organisation.
• Support the HR Department on implementation and update of company-wide HR policies, HR information system including self-service models where appropriate
• Responsible for maintaining an accurate database of site employees: HRIS record; personnel files including training records and the HR systems etc.
• Promote and drive the employee engagement agenda, particularly by assisting with completion and execution of engagement plans.
• Responsible for managing the relationship with the temporary staff suppliers (Agencies), dealing with headcount requirements and agreed rates are competitive, particularly during high season, training and development requirements etc.
• Manage all the potential risks linked to employee relations and employment laws and escalate to the HR Director where required.
• Facilitate the management of all disciplinary and employment law related situations on site.
• Oversee and deliver management of local consultation exercises (eg, redundancies, TUPE, Contractual changes etc).
• Develop and coach line managers in effective people management activities to ensure a focus on value-add priorities and dealing efficiently with HR operational activities.
• Oversee recruitment processes to attract, hire and retain top talent. Collaborate with departments to anticipate what is needed.
• Ensure inclusive and unbiased hiring practices are followed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, resolving conflicts in a fair and compliant manner in line with company policies.
• Champion employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.
• Develop and implement programs to improve employee morale, retention, and satisfaction.
• Manage Union – Company Relationship and lead negotiations on all agreements
• Provide recommendations to board management on IR/ER Issues.
• In conjunction with HR Director develop, review, and enforce HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labour laws and ensure compliance across the business.
• Oversee disciplinary and grievance procedures with fairness and consistency.
• Identify training needs and manage learning and development initiatives.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and support professional growth across the business.

Applicant's profile

• Experience in understanding and supporting a payroll environment/department which provides a shared service approach preferably through a Payroll Managed Service Provider.
• Good knowledge and experience in dealing with types of ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability and conduct.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in delivering projects within tight/ critical deadlines. including (but not restricted to) restructure programmes, change agendas, TUPE / acquisition activities
• Experience of senior business partnering up to and including General/Regional Manager level.
• Experience of working with KPI's and understanding how to use them to benefit the business positively.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel other Microsoft Packages.
• Experience in a Unionised Environment and demonstrated experience in areas including (TUPE, Redundancy, EAT, RC and other Employment Law arenas).
• Confident Decision Maker.
• An aptitude to taking issues through to resolution.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Ability to coach, support, train other members and to be a ‘change agent' Experience in working with matrix organisations with dual HR requirements and reporting on a local and international level.
• Qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (CIPD preferred).
• Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of labor legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience in strategic HR planning and execution.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team.
• High emotional intelligence, discretion, and integrity.
