•	Provide Support for ensuring accuracy of the daily accounting activities of the AP &amp; GL Team based in Chennai, through analysis of data and supporting the team as required with queries.
•	Act as a liaison between the AP &amp; GL Team based in Chennai and the Irish Operations team.
•	Provide Support to ensure Geodis Financial Controls are adhered to on an ongoing basis.
•	Support the review month end results to ensure reporting accuracy and report to Finance Controller.
•	Participate in the ME daily meetings WD1 – WD5.
•	Support the Finance Business Parter in the analysis of variances to Prior Month, Prior Year &amp; Budget for inclusion in the Monthly Management Letter.
•	Balance Sheet Management – covering the daily, weekly &amp; monthly Reconciliations with our Shared Service Finance team.
•	Support the Finance Business Parter in the managing currency balances and treasury management.
•	Support compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and payroll taxes.
•	Support the external auditor during the Annual Audit Process to resolve outliers.
•	Support the forecasting and annual budgeting processes to review stage, ensuring alignment with growth targets and timelines.
•	Work with Operations and other Dept as necessary to ensure Internal controls are adhered to and issues are resolved in a professional and timely manner.
•	Financial &amp; KPI Modelling to support the wider business functions.
•	Assist with Ad hoc projects.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Essential Education and/or Training

•	Must be technically competent and ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified
•	Experience with SAP would also be beneficial.

Essential Experience and Knowledge 

•	Can work in a fast-paced commercial environment with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and large volumes.
•	Can turn numbers into actionable insight &amp; challenge assumptions.
•	Experience in a multinational company and ideally working with overseas finance colleagues.
•	Experience in freight/logistics desirable but not essential. 
Essential Behavioural Competencies

•	Good knowledge of financial controls &amp; ability to support FA &amp; Chennai Team.
•	Strong people relationship skills – experience of effectively liaising with a high performing remote team.
•	Professional and self-motivated with the ability to actively engage and build relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties, as well as any other tasks relevant to the department which may be needed. 

•	Processing of customer bookings by e-mail, phone and online
•	Planning of export and import traffic, including FTL, LTL and groupage. 
•	Replying to or delegating incoming correspondence
•	Dealing with customer queries and proactively communicating with customers.
•	Working with hauliers and our partners &amp; agents abroad. 
•	Ensuring accurate financial information is kept.
•	Updating customers as to order progress.
•	Progressing and updating orders up to and including file closure. 
•	Managing outturn reports and amending files in line with shortages/overlands.
•	Other General Duties within the Department
•	Liaising with Warehouse staff and Management daily.

A hybrid working arrangement with up to 2 days remote working per week will be permitted following successful completion of probation and training. The successful candidate can of course choose to work from the office full-time. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
•	Minimum of 1 year experience in a busy freight forwarding role. 
•	Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail.
•	Excellent English language communication &amp; interpersonal skills are required.
•	Good proficiency with Microsoft applications (Office 365 Suite) is required, and the candidate must be eager to learn other software used in the business. 
•	Must be a team player, while also having the ability to use their own initiative in their job as the varied tasks of this role will demand. 
•	Excellent organisational and time management skills are essential. 
•	Some flexibility of working hours may be required due to the time sensitive nature of the industry and our clients, especially on Friday evenings for export planning. 
•	Some proficiency in German, Spanish, French or Dutch would be an advantage. 





Education

•	Irish Leaving certificate or international equivalent is the minimum requirement.

•	A third level qualification, especially in a relevant area, would be an advantage but not an essential requirement. 

•	Professional development opportunities may arise over the course of employment and the successful candidate should be open to participating in courses or further development opportunities. &lt;br /&gt;
